Reading Expository Text and Procedural Writing

This week we began reading some nonfiction articles and learned how to take notes and write our thinking as we read. I think everyone enjoyed the informational text we read from Time for Kids and National Geographic Kids!

We also began learning about procedural writing. This is writing that explains how to do something. We practiced putting the steps in order first, then moved on to writing our own steps. Next week everyone will be writing their own procedural essay!

I sent home study guides for the language test and the reading test with your child.  If you can't find them, I also attached them below.  Please take the time to go over the strategies and example questions with your child.  Thanks for your support!
