Seasons

The class has been working very hard on researching each season. This week we completed our seasons unit by presenting our facts on each season and making a claymation movie! We love making claymation movies! The kids did an amazing job with this. Be sure to ask your child what facts they learned about each season.

On Time Tigers!

We were on time tigers last week! This means everyone in our class was on time for 7 days! As a reward, we earned a no homework pass! Yeah! I am putting their regular homework page in their folder this week so you will be able to practice the spelling words and word wall words, but they do not need to complete the homework page on the back. Good Job Tigers!

I'm Not A Turkey!

We will be participating in the I'm Not A Turkey Video Conference next week. The class is so excited about this! We will be talking to other first grade students at Beasley Elementary and also a high school class at Lamar High School! View the video below to see the movie the students watched in class about a turkey who was trying to hide during Thanksgiving. The students are working in groups to create a disguise for their turkey. They also had to write clues about how their turkey is disguised. During the video conference, they will read their clues and the other class will try to guess their turkey's disguise.

Science Style Day!

On November 19th everyone at Thomas is invited to participate in Science Style Day! Students are asked to dress up to represent a science vocabulary word. To help you with some ideas, I have added a link with a list of science vocabulary words that we will be learning in first grade this year. Use your imagination!! Costumes will have to be approved by me. I sent home a note in each students folder with the science word list and a form at the bottom for you to fill out. Send the form back to school before Friday.
Have Fun!!

Red Ribbon Week!

This week was Red Ribbon Week. In class we learned about drugs that were safe to take and who can give us those drugs. We also learned many different ways to say no to drugs! We made "stinky feet" for our slogan- "Drugs Stink, Stomp Them Out!"
