On Time Tigers!

We were on time tigers last week! This means everyone in our class was on time for 7 days! As a reward, we earned a no homework pass! Yeah! I am putting their regular homework page in their folder this week so you will be able to practice the spelling words and word wall words, but they do not need to complete the homework page on the back. Good Job Tigers!

I'm Not A Turkey!

We will be participating in the I'm Not A Turkey Video Conference next week. The class is so excited about this! We will be talking to other first grade students at Beasley Elementary and also a high school class at Lamar High School! View the video below to see the movie the students watched in class about a turkey who was trying to hide during Thanksgiving. The students are working in groups to create a disguise for their turkey. They also had to write clues about how their turkey is disguised. During the video conference, they will read their clues and the other class will try to guess their turkey's disguise.

Science Style Day!

On November 19th everyone at Thomas is invited to participate in Science Style Day! Students are asked to dress up to represent a science vocabulary word. To help you with some ideas, I have added a link with a list of science vocabulary words that we will be learning in first grade this year. Use your imagination!! Costumes will have to be approved by me. I sent home a note in each students folder with the science word list and a form at the bottom for you to fill out. Send the form back to school before Friday.
Have Fun!!

We will try to take our snack time at about 1:20 every day. Please try to make the snacks healthy! Click the link below to view some healthy snack options. I also ask that you choose a snack that will not be too messy, since we will be working and eating. Try to stick to crackers, pretzels, dry cereal, or fruit snacks.
