Fun with regrouping!

We have been working on two digit subtraction with regrouping. Everyone is working so hard! To help us remember the steps we have been practicing a special poem. Our awesome classmate Quentin volunteered to recite the poem for us! Thanks Quentin....awesome job!

Family history

In Social Studies, we are talking about the history of our community and families. Sade brought some items and facts about his family history. He did a great job sharing with the class! It was so awesome to hear about his family history. Thanks Sade!

Holiday Fun!

Our holiday break will be here soon! We will have an early release day on Dec. 16th at 12:45. No school Dec.19-Jan. 2nd. Our classroom holiday pizza party will be Dec. 16th at 11:00.

I'm Not A Turkey!

Before Thanksgiving break, we took some time to create a turkey and then dress up the turkey as a different animal to hide. The kids then wrote clues about how their turkey was dressed. We read our clues to another 2nd grade class at Hutchison Elementary during a video conference. We had a great time! The kids did a super job with their clues! George Ranch Field Trip

We had a great field trip today to George Ranch! We learned a lot about how they lived on a ranch in Texas a long time ago. We got a little bit wet in the rain, but still had a great time!

The Rockin' Water Cycle!

We have been studying the water cycle in Science. As a review activity we created a claymation video to show the different stages of the cycle. Watch the video, then ask your child to explain the different parts of the water cycle to you!
